This picture was taken by the IDF spokesman unit at my graduation ceremony at the Technion. The guest of honor was Major General Ehud Barak, then the IDF chief of staff, and later the Prime Minister of Israel.
Students graduating with high honors (summa cum laude), including me, were invited to the stage to recieve their diplomas and shake Barak's hand. Since I had just enlisted to the army, I came to the ceremony in my uniform, which resulted in a unique photo opportunity for the IDF photographer who came with Barak: a private shaking the hand of a major general.
